The “National photography contest of the Carnival of Fano / Rites, customs and imaginary” wants to stimulate a reflection on the social role of the oldest carnival in Italy, inviting the participants, through the photographic language, to seek in the carnival parades not only the playful aspects and more obvious folklore but also the collective ritual of being together, of sharing moments of carefree joy and of forgetting the worries of life.

Photographers will represent in photos any aspect of the carnival, in a personal and original way, developing a reflection on the meanings and symbols of the popular festival in the city of Fano.
